What You'll Do:
Teach students in JK to Grade 8 in a multi-age, inclusive classroom
Each teacher will be assigned to teach either JK to grade 3 or grade 4 to grade 8
Foster a safe and nurturing environment that supports students' academic, emotional, and cultural development
Incorporate Indigenous perspectives and land-based learning into the curriculum
Collaborate with local Elders, families, and community members
Plan engaging lessons aligned with provincial curriculum standards and community values
What We're Looking For:
Certified teacher and be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers by the employment start date
Experience teaching elementary grades (multi-grade experience is an asset)
Knowledge of Anishinaabe Culture & Language is an asset.
Knowledge of Land based teaching
Commitment to Indigenous education and willingness to learn about First Nations cultures and traditions
Flexible, patient, and culturally respectful
Strong communication and collaboration skills
