Elementary School Teacher Position at Heritage Academy
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education and have both experience and credentials supportingworking with neurodiverse populations. Heritage Academy offers small class sizes, with up to 13 students per class.
Heritage Academy is a small, close-knit private school dedicated to supporting students with neurodiversity. Each student benefits from an individualized education plan (IEP) tailored to their unique learning needs, ensuring personalized academic support to bridge gaps in their education. Our focus is on providing targeted approaches that utilize a variety of accommodations and modifications to foster each student's success. Requirements:
Basic qualifications in Primary/Junior divisions or Intermediate
Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) with a permanent or temporary teaching certificate
Special Education AQ Level 1 minimum; Level 2 preferred
Previous teaching experience
Exceptionally strong communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues
Ability to adapt teaching techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles, including multisensory and hands-on learning approaches for neurodiverse students
