With a strong foundation in environmental science and technology--like coding, robotics, 3D printing, and data tools--you'll inspire our vibrant, stellar trailblazers to explore air quality, light and noise pollution, energy, and how we interact with the natural world. Responsibilities:
Teach Grades 7-8 in our enriched STEM Program, using Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
Incorporate text-based coding, robotics, programming, and eco-conscious themes into your lessons.
Co-teach and collaborate with fellow Science educators to build seamless learning experiences.
Create dynamic, cross-curricular, project-based units that engage students in deep inquiry.
Lead a robust robotics program, encouraging teams to compete in events like Skills Ontario and VEXIQ.
Host STEM clubs and guide students through enriching challenges such as the University of Waterloo's Beaver Computing Challenge.
Develop student confidence in coding (Python, JavaScript), environmental science, and engineering.
Inspire students to investigate their world--whether through building models, analyzing local pollution levels, or innovating sustainable solutions.
Foster strong parent connections through consistent, thoughtful communication.
Keep our Science Lab thriving with organized resources, lively displays, and student work that celebrates inquiry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Science (Honours)
Bachelor of Education with Junior, Intermediate, or Senior qualifications
OCT Certification in good standing
AQ in Intermediate/Senior Science (General, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.)
2-3 years of full-time classroom teaching experience in Science/Technology
Competency Requirements:
Background in Environmental Science, Computer Science, or Math
Skilled in coding (Python 3, JavaScript) and familiar with Lego Mindstorms EV3, mBot, VEXIQ
Experience in private or independent schools
Tech-savvy with tools like SMARTBoards, Google Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Schoology
A heart for students and a passion for making Science meaningful, relevant, and fun
Additional Information:
Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
Additional hours may be required for school events.

Starting at $98,704.00 (late August -June), subject to experience and education.
