About the Role
We are seeking two visionary, experienced, and collaborative educators to
share the Co-Principal role
at Prairie Sky School. Each Co-Principal will hold leadership responsibilities as well as maintain their own classroom teaching duties, making this a dynamic and hands-on leadership position.
This role is perfect for educators who thrive on partnership, value relational leadership, and want to remain closely connected to students while influencing school-wide culture and programs.
Key Responsibilities (shared between Co-Principals):
Champion and uphold the school's mission, vision, and values
Provide instructional leadership aligned with Prairie Sky's pedagogical philosophies
Facilitate staff collaboration, professional development, and mentorship
Support program development that centres Indigenous ways of knowing and culturally responsive practice
Ensure positive and respectful relationships with students, families, and the broader community
Manage daily operations, including scheduling, staff supervision, compliance, and student supports
Collaborate with the Executive Director on budgeting, staffing, and strategic planning
Lead with care, courage, and a commitment to continual growth--your own and the school's
Deliver high-quality classroom teaching consistent with Prairie Sky's holistic education approach
Required Qualifications:
Valid
Professional A Teaching Certificate
in Saskatchewan
Master's Degree
in Education or a related field, or currently enrolled in a Master's program (preferred)
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Proven classroom teaching experience, with a passion for progressive education
Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
Valid
Saskatchewan Driver's License
Current
criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening
Preferred Assets:
Previous experience in a school leadership or administrative role
Training in inclusive education, trauma-informed practice, or special education
Experience with budget management, school scheduling, or strategic planning
Familiarity with Reggio, Waldorf, or land-based education
Anti-racism/anti-oppression training
Wilderness First Aid, outdoor education certifications, or bushcraft/canoeing skills
