Overview

The Electronics Product Development Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and developing electronic products. Key duties include PCB design, prototype building, and enclosure design, as well as maintaining product documentation and writing procedures for production, testing, and calibration. The role involves working on independent in-house and larger R&D projects with consultants, adapting existing products, and providing technical support to customers.

Duties

Testing and troubleshooting new electronic designs

Maintaining product documentation

Electronic design of some circuitry including PCB layout

Design of enclosure and 3D print prototype

Work with consultants on large R&D projects

Work independently on in-house R&D projects

Adapt existing products to new uses

Build and test prototypes

Write procedures for production, testing and calibration

Interact with customers to provide technical support via email

Assist with production when needed

Qualifications

Electronics technologist diploma or similar

Hand soldering thru hole and surface mount components

Enclosure and cable assembly

Altium Designer software

Solidworks CAD software (optional)

Prusa 3D printer (optional)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
