Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Designing the electrical and electronic systems and electronic components within Invinity’s products.
  • Creating and maintaining design documentation and ensuring that the design processes comply with Invinity’s Product Development Process.
  • Coordinating and performing detailed studies, simulation, and tests for battery-based control topologies.
  • Generating new product ideas and performs system level and circuit level design.
  • Performing detailed design of the system which is composed of electronics design, control algorithms, PCBA layout, and balance of plant.
  • Developing test plans to ensure design meets specifications, design intent and application.
  • Preparing design time and cost estimates of electronics design and development within the hardware team.
  • Providing technical expertise to internal teams responsible for customer and supplier activities, as required, to ensure actual design and performance comply with requirements
  • Maintaining product design to ensure both safety and electromagnetic compliance (EMC).

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 to 8+ years experience in control electronics design.
  • Perform project (lead) engineer responsibilities as part of a project team.
  • Manufacturing sector experience preferred for medium to large volumes.
  • Experience in complex system design and architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronics / Microcontroller and real time controls.
  • Thorough knowledge of analog, and digital electronics design.
  • Thorough Knowledge of EMI reduction design techniques.
  • Experience with PLM tools and processes.
  • Considerable knowledge of PC applications and design/simulation tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to write technical documents and test procedures.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of battery chemistry and charging algorithms.
  • Thermal design experience.
  • Understanding of mechanical product packaging.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout for analog, power, and high frequency digital signal processing.
  • System design experience.
  • PV or Wind Generation experience.
  • Balance of plant design and simulation experience.
