We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Electro-Mechanical Assembly & Production Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills in electro-mechanical assembly, optics, and imaging systems to contribute to next-generation EO/IR sensor technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and integrate complex electro-mechanical, optical, and imaging systems, ensuring precision and performance.
Perform high-quality soldering and wiring according to schematics and wiring diagrams.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and procedures to accurately build and troubleshoot assemblies.
Align, calibrate, and test EO/IR systems, ensuring optical performance meets specifications.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, and production teams to refine manufacturing processes.
Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and optical systems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
Utilize oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, targets, and power supplies for system testing and validation.
Maintain documentation for assembly procedures, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to intellectual property generation, supporting new product development and innovation.
Work on the front lines of defense technology, ensuring our systems perform in the most demanding environments.
What We're Looking For:
Technical Expertise:
Hands-on experience in mechanical and electronic assembly, either professionally or as a hobbyist (e.g., robotics, drones, electronics projects).
Strong soldering skills and ability to work with fine-pitch components.
Familiarity with fiber optics, optics alignment, and EO/IR systems is a strong asset.
Understanding of basic electrical engineering concepts, such as Op-Amps, Multiplexers, ADC/DAC circuits.
Basic mechanical engineering knowledge, including actuators, gears, and precision mechanisms.
Problem-Solving & Innovation:
Analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Ability to work under tight deadlines, execute impactful improvements, and drive product performance enhancements.
Collaboration & Communication:
Strong technical, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work well in cross-functional teams, bridging mechanical, electrical, and optical disciplines.
Positive attitude, creativity in problem-solving, and willingness to learn and innovate.
Education & Experience:
Prior experience in EO/IR systems, imaging, fiber optics, or sensor technology is highly desirable.
Experience in multi-disciplinary collaboration to optimize system performance.
Technology Certificate or Diploma in mechatronics, robotics, electrical, mechanical, or related fields is an asset.
