Job Description

NextStar Energy (NSE) is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and Stellantis. NextStar Energy will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the site on over 200-acres of land on Twin Oaks Drive near Banwell Road.


The manufacturing facility is targeted to have an annual production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.


We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrode Equipment Technician to join our Team at Nextstar-energy.

Responsibilities:



Advanced machine troubleshooting. Drive troubleshooting and problem-solving activities when equipment breaks down and target performance has not been achieved. Perform machine maintenance work. Inspect and replace parts of the machine as part of Breakdown and Preventative Maintenance Tasks. Collects and analyzes data, inspects products and processes, conducts tests, assists with research and development, and records results. Lead line change-overs, verify proper function and quality is met before releasing the line for full production. Process and installation Parameter checks based on line standards. Initiates and fosters cooperation and communication within and between departments and shifts. Diagnose machine/process issues and make machine adjustments. Work on continuous process improvements to ensure the line is operating at its designed level at all times. Navigate computer and machine programs. Run queries to troubleshoot issues and keep machines running properly. Assist the engineer during tests or machine inspections to implement corrective action of production problems. Maintain 3R (Right Product, Right Quantity, Right Place) 5S (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) standards. Prepare and participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams. Adhere to all safety rules, wear all PPE and additional items as required including but not limited to safety glasses, surgical masks, bump caps / hard hats, latex / nitrile gloves, smocks, respirators, and Tychem suits. Work at a pace that meets demand of the lines Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:



Completion of a 2- or 3-year college program in a related field, or in lieu of formal education, a minimum of 7 years of directly related work experience troubleshooting or hands-on (Mechanical or Electrical) experience in the automation industry. Must have basic skills with Windows, Microsoft including Excel and Powerpoint Must be able to work 12-hour shifts which include walking, bending, twisting, lifting and other physical requirements. Must be able to work continental style 12 hour shifts. Willing and able to work plant shutdowns, weekends, and holidays as needed. Willing and able to work overtime on off shifts. Sometimes on short notice. Flexibility to adapt to changes in daily tasks or work priorities as required by evolving production schedules or operational needs. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights in accordance with the confined space work program and provincial regulations. Ability to lift or manually moving materials over 50lbs Must be able to read and write in English Strong communication skills within a team and departments Legally authorized to work in Canada

Preferred Requirements:



Electrical/mechanical-related certificate or domain knowledge preferred 3+ years' experience with operators and technicians in a manufacturing environment. Experience with trouble shooting or hands on experience with machines. Experience with PLCs.
