Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Property Management, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Journeyman Electrician is responsible for: the installation, maintenance and modification of electrical equipment and systems; monitoring inventory of stocks; and performing other related duties as required.
Experience
--------------
Five (5) years' experience in all aspects of installation, maintenance, modification, inspection and replacement of electrical services, equipment and components, preferably in a hospital setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
------------------------------------------
Grade XII.
Successful completion of a recognized Certificate Program in electrical technology.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
----------------------------------------
Valid Journeyman Electrician license as issued by the Manitoba Department of Labour or equivalent.
Qualifications and Skills
-----------------------------
Thorough knowledge of PLC Logic Systems.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of electrical codes and their application.
Thorough understanding of electronics in relation to the electrical trade.
Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings and diagrams.
Knowledge of elementary algebra to apply electrical/electronic formulas; good mathematical skills.
Good communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Neat and tidy appearance.
Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity.
Physically able to carry and move loads up to 34 kgs.
