As part of a key functional service group, you are responsible for supporting and maintaining the services of the factory and its equipment. You are punctual, able to work any shift required, reliable and have a good understanding of the factory operation. You support the work group activities to achieve the established factory goals.
MAJOR DUTIES
1. Effectively troubleshoot packaging and production equipment.
2. Check and calibrate process controls and recorders to maintain or improve productivity.
3. Maintain electrical equipment in good repair, perform preventative maintenance as per schedules, and work orders issued.
4. Ensure equipment logbook is maintained and stores withdraw vouchers, work orders and PM sheets are filled in completely and accurately.
5. Must adhere to all plant quality, GMPs, safety rules and trade-related regulations and codes.
6. Actively initiate and perform any cost saving ideas.
7. Perform mechanical repairs as required.
8. Program skills on programmable logic controllers.
9. Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. Minimum grade 12 education.
2. Must have a valid Ontario Electrician License with 3-5 years industrial experience, with strong electrical related skills.
3. Be skilled in microprocessors, pneumatic/hydraulic, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
4. Excellent team player. Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
5. Must provide required tools.
6. Ability to operate walkie, counterbalance, and double-reach fork trucks (training provided).
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Physical Effort
? Some heavy physical activities (lifting and reaching), walk/stand frequently, push/pull.
? Shift work (rotating 3 shifts with overtime as required). Call ins as required.
2. Physical Environment
? Exposure to noise (80-95 decibels) with PPE
? Exposure to moving mechanical components, various energies, wet and slippery conditions, and varying temperatures.
? Some exposure to ammonia vapour and chemicals.
3. Sensory - A high level of sensory attention is required.
4. Mental Stress - A moderate to high level of job stress may occur.
