The School of Trades and Technology is looking for a permanent Trades Shop Technician in the Electrician program.
The Electrical, Shop Technician will provide self-directed technical support for the day-to-day operations of the Electrical Labs. The successful candidate must be able to troubleshoot, and solve problems.
The successful candidate is required to support students and instructors in the School of Trades and Technology through the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment as well as the installation, testing and calibration of equipment.
This position will also support related activities throughout the School of Trades and Technology when required.
This position is a full-time position and is required for 5 days per week (35 hours).

Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Electrician Shop Technician include:
Troubleshooting equipment in a modern lab setting.
Maintain and operate various electrical trainer stations
Procure supplies and equipment
The incumbent must be able to troubleshoot, solve problems and repair electrical and electronic equipment under tight timelines
Required Qualifications
Journeyperson Trade certificate and/or 2 year ASET creditable engineering technology in Electrical.
Trouble shooting experience in a modern lab setting.
Strong communication and organizational skills
Sound decision making ability and problem-solving skills.
Experienced in working successfully either as a part of a team or individually
Willingness to learn and keep up to date on technology, and advance skills through courses and PD opportunities.

Experience working with PLC's
