Job Overview

Part-time Electrician. This role is expected to grow to full time, but does have some seasonality associated with it.

We are a small electrical contracting company that has a specific focus on home standby generator systems. We provide installations, service, and warranty work for the major leading brands - Cummins, Generac and Kohler.

The ideal candidate is going needs to have mechanical aptitude, we aren't looking for someone to be a mechanic, but this industry is a combination of mechanical and electrical system troubleshooting and service work. Days will include travel to customer locations and performing repairs or annual servicing (changing oil, filters, adjusting valves) and the next would be integrating a home backup system with transfer switch and load shedding as a whole home or partial home backup - there potentially is a lot of solo driving time as we cover from Revelstoke to Osoyoos.

Social skills and customer service are a top quality we are looking for. We focus on providing a customer solution focused approach and are there to solve their problems, not simply do a job.

For the right candidate this can also lead to being involved in sales, quoting, and project management.

Potential to grow into the commercial/industrial side of the company where we monitor, service and repair commercial and industrial units (load bank testing, controller upgrades, equipment testing).

If you have a background in solar and off-grid system installation and integration, that is a bonus!

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems. Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanicdal issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades. Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety regulations. Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects to ensure timely completion of work. Conduct low voltage wiring installations as required for various systems. Perform mechanical service work on air-cooled engines

Requirements

Proven experience as an electrician, particularly with main service installation, alteration and upgrades. Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including low voltage applications. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment used in electrical work. Ability to work independently or as part of a team on construction projects. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service Relevant certifications or licenses as required by local regulations are preferred but not mandatory. Valid drivers license

Pay: $28.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
