Schedule: 7 on / 7 off

Role Summary:







Bouchier is looking for an Electrician Journeyperson who is ambitious, hardworking and eager to learn new skills while supporting the organization in a variety of roles. The Electrician Journeyperson works with installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical set ups. An electrician reads blueprints to assist in working with electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities:



Follow procedures as defined in the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps. Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors. Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes. Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts Cut, thread, bend, assemble and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings Position, maintain and install distribution and control equipment such as switches, relays, circuit breaker panels and fuse enclosures Install and maintain fibre optic systems May train apprentices



Qualifications



Education & Experience:



Hold a valid Alberta Journeyman Ticket or Red Seal Certification. Must be an Alberta-certified journeyperson or someone who holds a recognized related trade certificate 3 years or more experience in a similar role Previous oil and construction industry experience High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Class 5 Driver's License Valid CSO ( Common Safety Orientation) WHIMIS 2015 Good communication skills including reading skills Ability to distinguish colours to work with colour-coded wiring Ability to work in high places Ability to get along well with co-workers Ability to do precision work All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
