CUPE10 $33.96/hr $38.31/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide the Hospital with effective electrical services
Perform all electrical work within the Hospital complex
Read and interpret blueprints and manufacturer's specifications pertaining to specialty
Requisition equipment and materials needed for electrical installations, repairs, maintenance
Determine response and organize service plans to meet customer requirements
Assist other Tradespersons performing routine tasks as requested
Maintain supplier, contractor and equipment listings
Participate in all departmental meetings and relevant educational sessions
Devise and implement electrical work clearances
Practice preventative maintenance so that deficiencies and/or potential hazards are eliminated prior to occurring
Be fully knowledgeable of his/her responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
Demonstrate QCH values: collaboration, accountability, innovation, respect
REQUIREMENTS:
Certified electrician
Grade 12 education
Minimum six years related experience, at least two of which are industrial/commercial/institutional systems
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, assess situations and implement actions
Ability to follow and/or give directions when working as a team member
Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Ability to identify and resolve problems applicable to the position
Must take all necessary safety precautions when performing work using chemicals, electrical or other equipment or tools, or when exposed to hazardous work conditions
