Our Syncrude Utilities Team are looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join their team!
Key Accountabilities:Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide spectrum of plant electrical equipment and machinery in high- and low-voltage applications
Maintain, test and ensure the functionality of electrical equipment protection systems, safety systems, emergency shutdown (ESD) equipment, and backup systems
Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical systems
Participate in failure analysis discussions
Plan jobs, which includes material assessment and selection
Develop and execute switching procedures
Assist other maintenance and production technicians to ensure equipment and plant reliability
Maintain equipment histories as required
Minimum Requirements:10 or more years of hands-on high voltage experience in a utility environment; heavy industrial or petrochemical experience is considered an asset
Valid Alberta Journeyman Power Systems Electrician Certificate and or a Journeyman Electrician Certificate with relevant experience. Additional qualifications of Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering diploma would be an asset
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, utility codes, complex switching procedures, and safe bonding and grounding practices
Extensive understanding of maintenance, operations, and safety standards related to electrical transmission and distribution apparatus at 13.8kV to 260kV; ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and schematics
Proficient and comfortable using computers and technology, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other industry-related software, such as SAP
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
Possess a valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
Passionate about safety, with proven safe work practices and knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations
Strong administrative skills, with computer knowledge in SAP and Microsoft Office suite
Location and Other Key Details:This role is located at our Syncrude Mildred Lake location in Fort McMurray, AB
This is a safety sensitive role
You will work a 6 days/6 off rotation, 12 hour days
