Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, with experience in industrial settings, construction, and low voltage applications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilising your technical expertise to ensure safe and efficient electrical installations and repairs. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills and a thorough understanding of schematics and blueprints to support our ongoing operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations Pull wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, following installation, replacement or repair Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components Connect electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records. Repair and maintenance: Performing repairs on existing structures and fixtures, and assisting with demolition. Tool and equipment use: Mastering a variety of hand and power tools, as well as safety equipment like levels and framing squares. Determine and estimate project materials and requirements From Time-to-time, assisting with other construction duties. Maintaining a clean and organized work site.
Experience and Requirements.

Electrical Systems: Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and fault-finding abilities. Physical: Stamina for climbing, lifting, standing, and working in various conditions. Tools: Proficiency with hand/power tools, test equipment (voltmeters, etc.). Communication: Clear communication with clients, management, and team members. Documentation: Keeping accurate maintenance records and daily logs. High School Diploma/GED. 3rd term apprentice to Journyman Valid Driver's License & clean record. Experience: Proven experience as a Construction and Maintenance Electrician. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and precision in electrical installations. Continuous Learning: Continuous learning and staying updated on advancements in electrical technology. Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with other tradespeople on a construction site.

Pay: $23.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
