The Opportunity:

The incumbent is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and documentation of electrical distribution and services, building fire alarm, CCTV security surveillance, communication, computer network systems and educational/operational supporting apparatus throughout the College. The incumbent is also responsible for maintenance and repair of all motors (AC/DC), process instruments, VF Drives and PLC electrical components. Incumbent will also be required to complete assigned electrical project-related work and electrical projects involving the interaction of contractors. The incumbent will quantity and order materials as required, inform the director of building deficiencies and project status as well as meet with ESA authorities and maintain ESA's CSS (Continuous Safety Services) program reporting.

What you need to be successful:

Two-year diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician/Technology or equivalent Journeyperson Red Seal-Certified 309A Electrician certification Minimum five years experience in electrical construction and maintenance Fire Alarm Technician or Instrumentation and Controls Certification Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematic interpretation Follow Preventative Maintenance Programs Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills Ability to work independently and with a team, including establishing appropriate priorities Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a collaborative team environment and with various stakeholders Valid drivers license or access to transportation associated with holding a valid G Drivers License

This is an Appendix D support staff vacancy, 40 hours/week, Payband J - $43.61/hour to $50.39/hour (starting rate $43.61/hour).


NOTE: Appendix D positions are temporary. I/O staff, Appendix D and PT staff are considered internal applicants.
