Scope

: Trouble shoots, repairs and maintains production and production supporting equipment with relay, PC and PLC logic. Maintains facilities.

Licensed electrician in the province of Ontario. A minimum of three (3) years' experience as an Electrician in an automotive manufacturing environment. Knowledge of electrically controlled equipment consisting of relays, PC's, PLC's and control systems for CNC machines and robotics. Ability to use programming devices for troubleshooting and modifying control programs for CNC's PLC's and Robotics. Working knowledge of ABB, Fanuc, or other 6 axis robots an asset. Ability to perform basic low and high voltage wiring installation and modification. Familiar with applicable electric codes for Ontario. Ability to work with minimum supervision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to work in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the health and safety of self and others by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures. Responsible for advancing the safety, quality and productivity of the automated equipment through innovation. Troubleshoot maintain and /or modify production equipment which includes electrical, hydraulic, mechanic and pneumatic systems. Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace all types of electric and electronic equipment used in the automatic robotic work cell. Install new power feeds to new and relocated equipment according to Hydro Codes and other applicable standards and regulations. Wire new control panels according to drawings and verbal instructions while implementing all applicable legal standards and regulations. Capable of using software for reviewing, modifying and programming AB, Omron, and Siemens devices. Responsible for knowledge sharing and to educate fellow employees on lessons learned and best practice. Work as a team player to troubleshoot and expedite the required repair. Document procedures for distribution and knowledge sharing. Inform the maintenance manager about modifications made to control circuitry and update all applicable drawings in a timely manner. Maintain and take ownership of assigned work orders and preventive/predictive maintenance system assignments. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment and facilities as required. Work co-operatively to implement and maintain safety standards for all equipment and work areas according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor. Ensure the work area and equipment are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times. Inform the Maintenance Manager or management in writing of non-conformance issues with regards to safety of employees, safety of equipment and machine design. Work in a cost effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and workmanship. Adhere to the standards and rules described in the Employee Handbook. Perform other duties as required within his/her abilities

Health, Safety and Environmental



Ensure safe practices prior to working on any equipment as to prevent harm to himself/herself and to others (i.e., lockout procedure, barricading areas, safe handling of materials, etc.). This includes making supervisor aware of any unsafe procedures or areas so that corrective actions can be taken.

According to Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Section 28, Subsection (1) (a), (b), (c), and (d); a worker shall:

a. Work in compliance with the provisions of the Act and the regulations;

b. Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that his employer requires to be used or worn;

c. Report to his or her employer or supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker;

d. Report to his or her employer or supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he or she knows
