Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Electrical/Millwright Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of our production equipment and facility infrastructure. This dual-role position requires mechanical and electrical expertise to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery critical to our manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems including motors, conveyors, gearboxes, and control panels Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as sensors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, and wiring systems Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment using appropriate tools and lifting devices Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose issues and execute repairs Support production and warehouse teams by minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring operational continuity Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance Ensure compliance with food safety protocols, allergen control procedures, and electrical codes Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as welders, grinders, multimeters, and hydraulic presses Participate in facility improvement projects and equipment upgrades Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in on-call rotation as needed Promote and enforce safety standards including lockout/tagout procedures and hazard identification Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills Weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

Required:

Trade certification as a Millwright or Electrician (Red Seal or provincial equivalent) Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems Physically capable of lifting up to 55 lbs and working in confined spaces or elevated areas Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred:

Dual ticket (Millwright and Electrician) Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation Knowledge of WHMIS, OH&S, and applicable electrical codes
