At GK Engineering & Design Ltd., we provide innovative design and consulting solutions in electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and energy modeling. Our projects include tenant improvements, multifamily developments, service upgrades, BC Hydro coordination, street lighting, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, and energy modeling.

We are seeking a Full-Time Electrical CAD Technician/Drafter with at least 1 year of AutoCAD experience. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented, and hardworking individual who can produce high-quality electrical design drawings and support the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and update electrical design drawings (tenant improvements, service upgrades, BC Hydro coordination, street lighting). Draft layouts, single-line diagrams, and schematics using AutoCAD (minimum 1 year direct experience required). Support Revit modeling and collaborate on 3D design documentation (asset). Perform lighting design calculations and layouts using AGI32 and Dialux (asset). Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and project specifications. Maintain organized documentation and project records. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders. Manage multiple tasks with excellent time management and punctuality. Assist with project submissions and technical packages.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 1 year of CAD (AutoCAD) drafting experience - compulsory. Diploma or education in Electrical Engineering / Technology - beneficial but not mandatory. Knowledge of building electrical systems (lighting layouts, power distribution, service coordination). Familiarity with Revit, AGI32, and Dialux lighting software - considered strong assets. Proficiency in English (spoken and written). Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools. Strong documentation, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting. Hardworking, proactive, and eager to learn. Knowledge of BC Electrical Code/Canadian Electrical Code - considered an asset.
