We have a requirement for a permanent, full-time Journeyman Electrician with leadership experience to join our electrical leadership team based out of Langley, BC. The Electrical Supervisor/Foreman will be responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting electrical equipment and related systems. Additionally, this role will include supervisory responsibilities and mentorship of other members of the Electrical team.
The successful applicant must be able to provide their own 'tools of the trade'.

This role will require various commutes within the lower mainland, a valid license and reliable vehicle are required.

Job Responsibilities

At Tritech, we aim to provide opportunities that are challenging, fast-paced, that effectively utilize the skills of our team members, and provides variety in day-to-day tasks. The job responsibilities for this role includes:

  • Oversee and lead the execution of the work completed under the Supervisor's/Foreman’s direction to ensure it is completed to the quality, standard, and specifications required.
  • Ensure that all crew members have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties and responsibilities.
  • Support and enforce all company policies and procedures that relate to the Supervisor's/Foreman’s areas of authority.
  • Direct, supervise, co-ordinate and participate in the design, estimation, procurement, scheduling, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning activities of the Electrical Division to ensure that all output is delivered on budget, within scope, and on time.
  • Install cable trays and conduit systems.
  • Pull, dress, and terminate wires and cables.
  • Install, terminate, and test electrical process equipment and building electrical systems in compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and project documentation.
  • Assess project electrical drawings, specifications, and existing installations for compliance with the CEC.
  • Perform material takeoffs from electrical drawings and coordinate the procurement of electrical supplies and equipment with the applicable departments & persons.
  • Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical components, equipment, and instruments (such as valves, pumps, wiring, etc.)
  • Perform electrical measurements.
  • Install, commission, and test motors, generators, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot industrial control systems and associated equipment.
  • Field configure and calibrate instruments.
  • Install, terminate, and commission control panels, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and instrumentation.
  • Plan electrical and instrumentation activities, including routine & improvement jobs, to maximize the efficiency of the work force, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools.
  • Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming is an asset.
  • Complete factory acceptance testing and inspection of control panels.
  • Give technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
  • Enter and retrieve information into the company’s construction management software system.
  • Support and implement programs to project a favorable image of Tritech with various industry groups, government agencies, and the public.
  • Establish and maintain a communicative, coordinated, and co-operative relationship with all other functions within the organization.
  • Ensure that all government and company requirements relating to safety, health and environment are adhered to and enforced.
  • Provide a safe work environment through continuous training and development.
  • Operate with honesty, integrity, and respect and maintain a client focus.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Electrical Supervisor or Tritech management

Requirements:

  • Experience supervising/leading a small crew of 2-5 people in a leadership role
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman Electrician ticket.
  • First Aid certification (Level 1 minimum).
  • Completion of the Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) or SiteReadyBC.
  • Confined Space Entry training.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with VFD controls and MCC’s
  • 5 years’ experience working with electrical instrumentation & controls, with specific knowledge of process instrumentation (pressure, level, flow, temperature, water quality) and electrical equipment. Preference will be given to those with specific water and wastewater process and systems experience and/or experience in industrial electrical work.
  • Experience programming and commissioning control systems for process plants (such as water/wastewater, pulp and paper, and oil and gas, etc.).
  • Experience with control system design, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, human-machine interface (HMI) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems configuration is an asset.
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal, and the ability to clearly communicate on technical and business topics.
  • Supply own basic set of Journeyman Electrician’s tools.
