Job Description

Birnie Electric is an established electrical contractor operating in the Greater Toronto Area for more than 50 years. We are seeking an organized, proactive, and customer focused Administrator for our Electrical Services division.

Position Overview:



The administrator will provide support to our HomeSafe (Residential), Data Comm, and Service teams. The Electrical Services Administrator also serves as the primary point of contact for customers and inquiries directed to the Electrical Services division. This is an existing position, and we are seeking someone to cover a 20-month maternity leave.

Duties & Responsibilities:



Schedule and dispatch electricians under the direction of the Electrical Services Manager. Generate and issue invoices for HomeSafe, Qmerit, and Electrical Service customers. Support the Electrical Services Manager in collecting outstanding invoices by following up with clients for payment approval, addressing issues that delay payment, and tracking quotes and payment status as needed. Liaising with local utility companies and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) to obtain necessary permits, schedule inspections, and arrange hydro shutdowns. Ensure field staff collect ERA fees and other receivables upon completion of residential service work. Maintain organized filing systems for all service project-related documents, including ESA permits, invoices, closeout documents, and other required records. Submit all required documentation to support proper project setup, execution, and closeout. Providing general administrative support to the electrical services manager and team. Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



2-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an electrical, construction, or service-based environment. Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel). Experience with Jonas and Accubid software is considered an asset. Familiarity with Utilities and Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) processes is considered an asset.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
