We are seeking a versatile and skilled Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. This role is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and "behind-the-scenes" functionality of the resort. We are specifically looking for a candidate with basic to intermediate electrical experience to assist with lighting, small appliance repair, and circuit troubleshooting. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure our fabulous property remains safe, functional, and guest-ready at all times. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:




Perform basic plumbing (clearing clogs, fixing leaks), carpentry (repairing trim, doors, or decks), and painting/drywall touch-ups. Monitor and perform basic preventative maintenance on heating and ventilation systems. Assist with pool and hot tub chemistry and filtration maintenance. Replace light fixtures, ballasts, switches, and outlets. Troubleshoot minor electrical failures in guest rooms and common areas. Assist in the maintenance of exterior property and pathway lighting. Ensure all electrical work is performed according to safety codes and resort standards. Conduct regular inspections of smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting. Respond promptly and professionally to "Guest Service Calls" for in-room issues, ensuring a friendly and non-intrusive presence. Assist with exterior maintenance, including pressure washing, debris removal, and minor equipment repair (e.g.power tools). Complying with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and GolfNorth Health & Safety program.

Qualifications:




Minimum of 2-3 years in general maintenance or a construction trade. Demonstrated experience with basic electrical systems. A formal trade background or "Handyman" certification is a significant asset. Ability to diagnose a problem and determine the most efficient and cost-effective fix. Ability to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs. You must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Clear verbal and written skills for logging work orders and communicating with the front desk. A valid license is required for operating property vehicles.

Language Requirements:




Fluency in English

(written and verbal) is required for all positions to ensure effective communication across the resort.

Proficiency in French

or other languages (e.g., German, Spanish, Mandarin) is considered a

significant asset

for customer-facing roles.

Working Conditions:




Bending, balance, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), extended periods of standing Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
