The Projects E&I Inspector will oversight and support to the Projects Group supporting the Site Assets.

He/She will provide ongoing Quality Assurance surveillance activities at site, supplier shops, and EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) locations during the Define and Execute Project phases for the following items:

Electrical equipment installations Heat Trace Installations Instrument installations Control & Automation equipment installation and testing.
Ensure Site Projects Quality Pan is executed throughout the Define & Execute phases of Projects.

Ensure E&I Contractors are adhering to their approved ITP's and Regulatory Quality manuals through field surveillance and auditing. Provide Quality reporting and feedback of learnings to the Projects Quality Lead, Project Engineers, & Project Managers in a timely manner. This will be utilized using Company's Quality Insights online tool Provide Quality requirement training to 3rd party inspectors and/or Contractor Quality Control personnel if required.

Principal Responsibilities:



Reports to Projects Quality Lead. Interfaces with Engineering, Construction, Ops Readiness, and other site teams as required. On-going surveillance of E&I installations to ensure project details and standards are followed. Provide clarification to the E&I Construction Contractor(s) (CC) management if questions arise about installations, act as technical liaison between engineering and constructors. Contribute to meetings on progress and construction issues with all E&I CC's and report progress to management. Review and approve E&I CC's Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and other technical and quality documents as required. Ensures that all testing requirements identified in COMPANY specifications are addressed in the ITPs. Provide inspection assistance to the Electrical Engineering team for projects executed during site T/A (Turn Around) events. Perform verification, assessments, and inspection activities in accordance with the E&I Contractors' approved Inspection and Test Plans. Ensure the As-built drawings in the inspection & test packages are an accurate representation of the installations as found. - verify correct revisions of drawings Attend witness and hold points as required by ITPs and ITRs (Inspection Test Record), signatory as required Monitor and Coordinate with Engineering/OR/Asset SAEP (Senior Authorised Electrical Person) regarding required CEC Code inspections by Marex Monitor quality performance and provide Quality reporting in Quality Database Provide early warning of potential quality issues to the E&I Contractor's Quality rep, and ensure non-conformances are identified, tracked, and closed out prior to acceptance of the work. Ensure NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), OR's and CARs (Corrective Actions Requests) are filled out as required and follow up on progress to closure. Must report immediately to supervisor: Any deviation to project documentation, any noncompliant installations, any damaged equipment, or materials (Quality inspectors will not make any engineering decisions related to any installations or project details) Participate in periodic audits of the E&I Contractor's Quality system as required (ex: Tests on performed equipment / storage, handling, and preservation to client specifications / project quality standards meeting project specifications and requirements) Participate in other HSE (Health Safety and Environment) walkdowns if requested Conduct Quantity Surveillance Verification, periodic checks to verify claimed construction progress reporting is as per what was claimed "as done." (Quantity and progress for mechanical completion of contractor's scope of work). Review Contractor's Turn Over files for accuracy and adequacy. Signatory for all project related QA documents on behalf of client e.g., E&I Completions Checklists, ITPs, ITRs, System Discipline Acceptance Certificate (SDAC) forms, etc. Could be asked to support with EHT as building

Quality Reporting:



Identify and generate Quality non-conformances, ensure appropriate supporting documentation is attached Follow-up Quality non-conformances for completion prior to MOC (Management of Change) completions Report re-work/repair costs Review and sign off E&I Construction/Fabrication Contractor's NCR's and provide input when needed. Ensure each Project MOC receives the required surveillance/inspection reporting on the Project. Implementation of Inspection reporting system

Experience and Qualifications:



10 years E&I experience (Technologist or Engineer) with experience hydrocarbon operating facilities. A broad knowledge of E&I Equipment management / maintenance / operational practices and applicable technology Knowledge and experience on software (DCS / PLC) Knowledge and experience in Hardware installation and pre commissioning including functional testing (Controls, Limits, Shutdown Keys etc.) Auditing skills Construction safe work skills Ability to coach contractors, project team members and deliver training to front line workers on QA and E&I work. Effective written and verbal communication skills Familiar and experienced with the requirements of the Canadian Electrical Code and Marex Inspections Experience working with EHT

Pay: $70,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
