$71,141.00 - $88,536.00 annually in accordance with the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement, with annual increments up to a maximum salary of $114,001.00. This position is entitled to 240 hours of vacation annually, pro-rated and front-loaded, in addition to paid time off between the Christmas and New Year's Day. Description:
The successful candidate will join our team of TradesApprenticeship Instructors to deliver ITA certified training for all levels in the Electrical program, from Foundation to Level 4. The energy and construction sectors continue to expand steadily, and the demand for trained Electricians remains strong.
Through a study of residential, commercial, and industrial practices, students explore the theoretical knowledge and maintenance procedures required to install and maintain industry equipment. Safe work practices are emphasized throughout the program, with numerous opportunities to demonstrate these skills in the foundation lab. Classroom theory for Levels 1 through 4 is reinforced through hands-on training in our state-of-the-art electrical lab.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared to write the Interprovincial Certificate exam.
Qualifications:
Required
Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician certification, including a completed apprenticeship certificate
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a post-secondary environment
A supportive, student-centred approach with a strong commitment to student success
Preferred
Previous experience instructing the Construction Electrician curriculum as prescribed by Skilled Trades BC
Completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent adult education credential, or a demonstrated willingness to obtain one
