Somatic MEP is looking for an experienced
Electrical Estimator/Project Manger

Job Summary:
As the Foreman, you will play a crucial role in the daily oversight and management of our on-site projects. You will lead a team of skilled workers, ensuring that all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and within budget and schedule constraints. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on the site. You will be reporting directly to our Electrical Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, project budgets, and material take-offs while tracking estimate assumptions and scope clarifications
Liaise with our subcontractors and equipment vendors for project quotations
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope of work and pricing strategies
Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and coordinate with our suppliers, building upon our strong relationships
Prepare quotations for final review using industry software (Accubid, LiveCount, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office)
Attend site walkthroughs, kick-off meetings, and lead project hand-off
Manage change orders and extras (pricing + tracking) while considering cost-control strategies
Communicate with general contractors and stakeholders our timelines and deliverables while ensuring all contractual obligations are being met
Review field progress reports weekly with Superintendent to ensure alignment with our bid to better refine our bidding process
Not responsible for:
Day-to-day crew management
Material pickups or calling inspectors
Tracking time or resolving site-based conflicts
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as an electrical estimator in the commercial construction industry with a history of winning tenders
Professional level knowledge base pertaining to electrical systems, interpreting construction drawings, and technical documents
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Accubid, LiveCount, and Bluebeam
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.
Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational abilities
Proven ability to meet numerous deadlines and adapt to both self-directed and cooperative work environments
Red Seal Electrician certification with a proven track record of steady advancement in the trade will be considered an asset
FSR certification is considered an asset
Valid Driver's License
