We are seeking an estimator/project coordinator/invoices/planner/scheduler/purchaser to join our electrical construction team. Your team is small and dynamic and you must have an excellent handle of all software related to the business, be full of energy and be beholden to the DEADLINE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure successful project execution. You will be required to use your own vehicle to visit clients and projects throughout the province, as such, you will also need full PPE and an acceptable tool set for exploration or inspection needs including working on the tools when required on site. Your future entails going to courses to attain your Electrical Project Manager status and estimator courses for certification on your own time.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects using industry-standard tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to accurately assess scope of work.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms.
Prepare detailed bid proposals, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to ensure competitive yet profitable estimates.
Assist in the development of project schedules and resource planning.
Maintain organized records of all estimating documents and correspondence for future reference.
Support project management teams throughout the project lifecycle by providing cost analysis and updates as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in MS office, Teams and other software for reviewing drawings and markup annotations.
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
Experience with construction estimating software
Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge of pricing strategies within the construction industry to develop competitive bids.
