Position Overview
CEL is currently recruiting an Estimator in our Calgary Head Office. This position will support estimating pursuits for multiple CEL branches as directed by the CEL Business Development Unit. The job posting is currently open

This exciting opportunity calls for an experienced Electrical Tradesperson or Technologist who is an organized self-starter able to meet tight deadlines, working in a fast-paced environment. The individual should have a good understanding of the CEC, wiring methods in a variety of environments and the constructability of electrical systems. The successful candidate will need to be a team player and have technical expertise to help guide CEL in our continued growth objectives.

The Challenge: Key Responsibilities
Detailed estimating and pursuit management for new projects as assigned by the Division Manager.
Review bid specifications, identifying systems and counts as well as any cost and risk factors.
Compile RFIs to clarify requirements where there may be ambiguity, options, or competitive advantage.
Complete take-offs, device counts, and compile an estimate based on site requirements, complexity, labour, material and equipment costs needed to meet specifications.
Obtain quotations from vendors and suppliers in support of an estimate.
Complete site visits as required.
Complete accurate estimates using Accubid.
Present estimate, assumptions, risks and estimating process for multiple reviews.
Submit budgets and quotations.
Participate in estimating project handover planning and supporting the project management team.
Contract and Change Order Management.
What you bring: Qualifications & Experience
Interprovincial Journeyman Licence, 4th Level Apprentice or Electrical Technologist Diploma.
Working knowledge of Accubid Estimating Software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel & Blue Beam.
Possesses good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Results-oriented, analytical and organized to meet tight deadlines.
Electrical problem-solving and design skills.
Good customer and vendor relationship skills.
Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Valid Driver's Licence.
