A salaried (2724) vacancy exists in Electrical Maintenance SlabCast (00860010) for a Electrical Engineering Specialist.

Accountabilities:

• Assist in the preparation of electrical design to meet the requriements of the Ontario Electrical Code and the TSSA.
• Identifies equipment problems and determines cause and areas for improvement.
• Develops solutions and co-ordinates and implements corrective actions.
• Works on upgrade projects including new equipment installations. Involved with choosing, developing programming and interface design, installation and commissioning of equipment. Works with other groups such as MTD, Engineering and Operations.
• Participates in a team environment with the Electrical FLS, Planner, Tradesmen and others utilizing concepts of the continuous improvement programs.
• Responds to call outs to troubleshoot equipment problems requiring good analytical and technical problem solving abilities, knowledge and experience. Strategize and co-ordinate solutions and implement corrective actions.
• Develops written procedures for the maintenance and calibration of equipment related to process measurements and control. Sets technical standards relative to specs, tolerances and operating parameters.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of Maintenance Management Systems such as SAP, planning, predictive maintenance and quality assurance programs such as ISO 9001.
• Provides ongoing system specific and technical training and tutoring to area EMT\'s and other technical personnel.
• Performs design changes and corrections as assigned, implementing same. Prepares and initiates software changes to equipment.
• Supervise major projects.
• Overtime hours may be required occastionally.

Qualifications :

• Must have a minimum of a three (3) year Technical Diploma with a minimum of three (3) years expereince working in an electrical field. Preference will be given to a candidates with a degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of electrical drive systems, industrial instrumentation systems, automation systems, personal computer program development and standardized maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Joint Health & Safety and Environment policies.
• Team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Good analytical and technical problem solving/decision making abilities working with minimal supervision.
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
