Electrical Engineering Manager-MV/LV,

Reporting to the Director, Design Engineering the Electrical Engineering MV/LV Manager's primary function is to lead the electrical engineering design department. Responsibilities include training, recruitment, and performance & people management and the development of engineering staff that report directly or indirectly. This role also needs hands on work to support the departmental workload and take full responsibility for all assigned projects. The manager will also be responsible to provide support to manufacturing, testing, QA, supply chain etc, as and when required. This role sets and adheres to department financial budgets.




Key Responsibilities Include:





Leadership Responsibilities


Ensure the safety and well-being of those in the department. Assign and manage the workload for all staff to achieve lead time and SOT targets for individual designers and departments. Recruitment and orientation of new department staff. Provide technical training and ongoing coaching to department staff and supervisors. Conduct performance appraisals annually with frequent checkpoints. Support healthy relationships and effective communication between Engineering and all other departments. Support shop floor in resolving any production issues. Provide guidance and support for the development of staff. Address performance issues. Be an example for HPS' values Manage and meet annual expense budget targets. Manage and meet departmental KPI's.

Projects


Follow the requirements for COD, POD and strategic projects. Work with the customer to develop a cost-effective solution for customer application. Collaborate with the HPS team to ensure the project is completed cost-effectively and on schedule. Work with IT to automate design outputs for strategic project.

Continuous Improvement


Identify opportunities for continuous improvement (CI) with an aim for cost reduction and quality improvement. This may affect material, labour, lead time, processes, etc. Participate in CI implementation once the project is approved.



Do you qualify? We are seeking:





Prior Experience


Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. P.Eng designation preferred. 6-9 years experience in Electrical Engineering with minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory position. Project management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft word, excel, power point, etc.
