The Position:



The Electrical Engineering Manager - Hardware is responsible for providing leadership and coordination of electrical engineering department functions and costing. The incumbent will develop and implement electrical engineering policies and procedures while working directly with Controls, Applications, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure profitability goals are met on budget while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.



What You'll Be Doing:



Ensure contractual commitments are clearly understood and that project teams are collaborating across the organization effectively to deliver the best possible project outcomes Direct, organize and coordinate Electrical Engineering - Hardware staff Develop and coordinate electrical designs within the Electrical Engineering team Intentional about process by building clear concepts and identifying super users to support adoption and continuity Assist Engineering teams with implementation and maintenance of Electrical Engineering procedures and standards Ensure all project designs are reviewed and approved appropriately prior to releasing drawings to manufacturing Respond to CARs and NCRs issued to the department in a prompt fashion Oversee the function of Electrical Engineering - Hardware within the technology center Develop and manage the Electrical Engineering budget effectively to ensure funds are allocated properly and to maintain department profitability Regularly monitor Electrical Engineering performance against overall business goals to ensure consistent alignment Under the direction of senior leadership, establish and implement short- and long-term departmental goals and objectives that support overall corporate objectives, monitoring regularly using KPIs to ensure they are being met Understand the business needs and prioritize efforts and strategy accordingly Work directly with Human Resources to determine hiring needs for the department and create a strategic hiring plan, ensuring the department is continuously staffed appropriately with proper skillsets in advance of high volume project work Conduct interviews as needed for direct reporting hires to ensure proper skillsets are being met Expectation of travel up to 20% of time could be anticipated, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs

What We're Looking For:



Has successfully completed either a University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Robotics Automation Technology A minimum of 10 years' experience in the custom automation industry and has previously held a supervisory role CMSE or equivalent certification a strong asset Knowledge of advanced electrical hardware's concepts Demonstrated experience with EPLAN including document preparation, submission, and coordination throughout the application lifecycle Demonstrated experience with design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes Understanding of project lifecycle management, change control, and configuration management Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
