Electrical Engineer
Location: Southwestern Ontario, Canada
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid to On-site

About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support a major industrial project in Southwestern Ontario.
In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with the Owner's Team and external engineering contractors to manage and oversee all aspects of electrical system design, procurement, installation, and commissioning. You will also liaise with third-party suppliers to ensure alignment with project goals, codes, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical activities across design, engineering, procurement support, supplier quality, commissioning, and start-up planning
Review engineering contractor submissions (technical drawings, specs, and calculations) for compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications
Support supplier bidding and selection for electrical packages (e.g., HV substations, transformers, switchgear, emergency power systems)
Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals to ensure technically sound and cost-effective solutions
Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical systems and address any technical deviations
Monitor schedule and budget compliance for assigned equipment packages
Apply established management of change procedures when project scope or technical requirements shift
Identify and mitigate risks affecting cost, schedule, safety, or quality
Visit supplier facilities during fabrication to monitor quality and progress
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline)
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with large-scale industrial projects
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario
PMP Certification is an asset
Strong knowledge of applicable Canadian electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Experience with high-voltage systems, industrial power distribution, and equipment integration
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
Willingness to travel internationally as needed
Hybrid role with on-site presence required at key phases (e.g., design reviews, installation, commissioning)
