Prepare technical specifications and tender documents for HVDC converters and FACTS devices
Evaluate bids, perform design reviews and witness factory and onsite commissioning tests
Conduct HVDC/FACTS studies and apply them to complex power systems
Collaborate with clients, project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Mentor junior engineers and represent BBA in technical committees and industry groups
Support business development through proposal preparation and presentations.

Summary of certifications and job requirements
Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in electrical engineering
P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration
At least 15 years of industry experience, including 10+ years in HVDC/FACTS
Expertise in HVDC/FACTS design, equipment and testing
Experience in serving as an Owner's Engineer for HVDC/FACTS projects
Experience preparing technical documents and proposals
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to travel within Canada, the USA and internationally for short-term assignments
Project management knowledge (scoping, planning, estimating)
Experience with power system simulation tools (PSCAD, PSSE, RTDS)
Familiarity with electrical protection and control systems
Knowledge of IEEE, NEC or IEC standards
