Job Description

The Electrical Engineer III - Substation P&C is responsible for supporting the lead protection manager with relaying philosophy, configuration, and settings for substation relays. The engineer is also responsible for programming and testing of substation HMIs, RTUs, and substation networking devices. This position requires travel to job sites for commissioning support, including potential international travel to job sites.

Essential Responsibilities



Develop relay settings and protection philosophy Review panel design, wiring, and testing Review protection and control design drawings Review network and communication design drawings Troubleshoot and field test substation SCADA panels Design SCADA communication related drawings Requires travel, including potential international travel to job sites



Job Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related engineering disciplines Experience in SCADA system design, preferably in the renewable energy industry Experience with industrial communication protocol, such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, DNP3.0, Ethernet/IP, SEL Fast Messaging, IEC 61850, Telnet Experience with networking devices and communication configuration Experience with ASPEN Experience with relay settings Preferred experience with configuring and testing Beckwith, Calisto and other MPT monitoring devices. Experience with RTAC and Orion RTU testing and programming Proven ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to efficiently communicate and report at all levels Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Candidates with previous internship experience is preferred Ability to travel up to 30%
