Senior Firmware Engineer (Embedded Systems)
Job Summary:
As an integral part of Verdyn's dynamic team, we invite you to apply your creativity and technological expertise in developing cutting-edge firmware for our DC Microgrids and EV DC Fast Charger systems. This role provides an opportunity for active participation in designing, developing, optimizing, and fine-tuning embedded firmware solutions, contributing significantly to our mission towards sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
Apply your unique skillset in embedded firmware development to spearhead software solutions.
Design, develop, and refine firmware for microcontrollers, power electronics controllers, and communication interfaces, enhancing system operational efficiency and reliability.
Implement real-time control algorithms, power management protocols, and safety systems in embedded environments.
Develop and optimize low-level drivers for ADCs, PWM controllers, CAN bus, Modbus, Ethernet, and other industrial communication protocols.
Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of firmware including unit testing, integration testing, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
Collaborate seamlessly with hardware engineers, system architects, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient progress and robust communication.
Uphold stringent compliance with specifications, safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 26262), and customer requirements through expert firmware development, debugging, and validation activities.
Foster an efficient documentation process including technical specifications, code documentation, and test procedures that align with our high industry and company standards.
Proactively explore and integrate emerging technologies in embedded systems to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving firmware development landscape.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, or a similar technical field.
Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing embedded firmware for power electronics, renewable energy systems, or automotive applications.
Proficient in embedded programming languages including C/C++, assembly language, and real-time operating systems.
Experience with microcontroller platforms.
Knowledge of power electronics control, motor control, battery management systems, and grid-tie inverter technologies.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and safety-critical system development.
Experience with version control systems, continuous integration, and agile development methodologies.
Strong understanding of hardware-software integration, signal processing, and the ability to work closely with hardware design teams.
A strong ethic for self-management, exhibiting the ability to work independently while diligently adhering to project timelines and safety requirements.
