Electrical Engineer
to lead the development of
specialized downhole MWD products

for harsh downhole environments.
Position Summary:
As an
Electrical Engineer
, you will be responsible for developing
specialized electronics
for
MWD (Measurement While Drilling)
tools, ensuring
high-temperature, high-shock, and high-vibration reliability
. You will be involved in end-to-end product development, from design and prototyping to testing and field implementation. This role requires expertise in
low-level mixed-signal circuit design, firmware development
, and
PCB assembly guidance
, as well as close collaboration with
mechanical, software, and field teams
.
Key Responsibilities:
Construct on-demand creative solutions
for downhole
MWD electronics
design.
Design and implement low-level, mixed-signal circuits
for high-temperature, high-shock, and high-vibration environments.
Develop power supply designs, microcontroller-based systems, and
low-level/mixed-signal circuits
.
Implement BLDC control solutions
(sensor and sensorless).
Apply
field-oriented control (FOC)
principles for i
nduction motor control
.
Provide
PCB assembly guidance
for integration with
mechanical design and manufacturing.
Conduct
board bring-up activities
and execute
test plans
.
Hands-on
debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
.
Utilize standard test equipment
(multi-meter, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition cards, etc.)
.
Perform
soldering, rework, and hands-on electronic modifications
.
Develop
firmware and embedded software
using
dsPIC33
.
Collaborate with
mechanical, software, electrical, and field teams
for rapid development and product management.
Generate
detailed design documentation
and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Proficient in using
Microsoft Office
for documentation and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in
Electrical Engineering
or equivalent.
5+ years of experience
in
schematic capture and PCB layout
using
Altium Designer.
Strong experience in
downhole or harsh-environment electronic design.
Expertise in
embedded systems and firmware development
.
Understanding of
RF communication, signal processing, and power management
.
Ability to analyze and mitigate issues related to
thermal, shock, and vibration constraints
.
Experience with
manufacturing and supplier coordination
.
Strong commitment to delivering
high-quality, on-time work
.
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
with excellent communication skills.
