What You'll Do




Technical Support & Production Coordination




Serve as a technical resource for belting operations, offering floor-level guidance and support. Review Job Travelers and generate clear, detailed setup instructions for production teams. Monitor real-time production, testing, and shipping activities to ensure process stability and Project Planning & Execution Define technical deliverables based on scope and project objectives for estimates and execution planning. Interpret client and internal requirements to ensure designs are functional, code-compliant, and within budget. Develop detailed project plans including scope, timeline, budget, and resource needs. Specify electrical equipment and components, coordinate with vendors for procurement, negotiation, and timely delivery. Manage and track project activities to align with strategic goals and deadlines. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish key milestones and deliverables. Oversee project execution, ensuring quality standards, timelines, and cost targets are met. Lead capital and infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning using project management tools and methodologies.

Engineering & Technical Expertise




Apply advanced electrical engineering principles to analyze, design, and implement solutions to complex problems. Provide technical support and mentorship to project and operations teams. Perform electrical load calculations, schematic design, and circuit layouts using AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent software. Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., NEC, CSA, IEC) and company specifications. Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design packages, calculations, and engineering reports.

Quality Assurance & Risk Management




Identify technical and operational risks, implement mitigation strategies early in the project lifecycle. Lead system testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure performance and safety compliance. Establish and maintain quality control standards across design and implementation phases. Address technical challenges proactively to minimize downtime, rework, or cost overruns. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication Work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, safety, and external contractors to support project execution and plant needs. Communicate project status, risks, and results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Prepare and present reports, documentation, and formal technical presentations as required. Represent engineering perspectives in cross-functional meetings and decision-making forums.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation




Support continuous improvement by identifying design or process enhancements and implementing engineering best practices. Stay current with electrical engineering trends, codes, and emerging technologies. Maintain up-to-date site documentation including as-built drawings, engineering files, and system schematics. Assist with commissioning and support of custom-designed electrical systems at both internal sites and customer locations.

Health, Safety & Regulatory Compliance




Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical safety regulations, procedures, and PPE requirements. Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety and continuous risk awareness. Immediately report any safety hazards or concerns to appropriate personnel. Ensure engineering work adheres to legal, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E).

Additional Responsibilities




Provide on-site engineering support for daily operations and maintenance activities as needed. Travel up to 15% (domestic and international) to support project implementation and plant support across North America. Maintain valid credentials (driver's license, passport) for business travel and site access. Uphold professional conduct on-site and while representing the company externally. Work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, based on business or project needs. Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support organizational objective



What You'll Need




Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field is required. Proven experience in electrical or project engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment, with a strong grasp of core engineering principles and practices. Hands-on expertise in industrial electrical design, including specification of motors, gear systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automation controls. Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, and other engineering design software, with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to apply mechanical and electrical design principles to support equipment design, upgrades, and automation initiatives. Strong project management skills with a consistent ability to plan, organize, and deliver results in a high-output, deadline-driven environment. Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a data-driven approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Effective decision-making abilities, with a track record of delivering technical solutions that align with project goals and business needs. Familiarity with Six Sigma tools, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience working within ERP and Quality Management Systems, with the ability to navigate and apply system data to drive improvements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy in design, reporting, and execution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments, including engineering, finance, operations, and supply chain. Ability to prioritize tasks independently, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with diverse teams to drive efficiency, financial accuracy, and strategic decision-making. Proactive, self-motivated, and resourceful team player with a focus on ownership and follow-through. Solid understanding of safety standards and quality regulations relevant to manufacturing and electrical systems. Flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs and plant priorities.
