ELECTRICAL DESIGN DRAFTER - THUNDER BAY OFFICE

Nordmin Engineering Ltd. is entering our 20th year of operation as a technical resource of choice for the mining and resource sectors. To keep up with demand we are looking to add to our ever-growing team.

With three offices, located in Thunder Bay and Sudbury, Ontario as well as Salt Lake City, Utah, Nordmin provides Full-Service Engineering and Geoscience Solutions to Clients worldwide.

Nordmin Engineering Ltd. is presently looking to add to our Electrical Engineering group and is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the following position:

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for the preparation of Electrical Power and Control designs and drawings using AutoCAD/Revit and ensuring that design drawings conform to the developed engineering designs and code requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and prepare electrical designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, and engineering designs and sketches. Working knowledge of CAD based design software. Ability to create 3-dimensional BIM models in Revit. Utilize BIM to analyze and optimize potential design solutions. Read and interpret existing engineering drawings. Check and verify design drawings for conformance with specifications and design data. Assist in compiling Material Take-offs from design models for estimating support. Be accountable to Project Engineers for model/drawing production and quality. Ensure clients' needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Maintain current knowledge of National and Provincial building codes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma in electrical engineering, drafting, architecture or equivalent, or extensive experience in lieu of. Experience working with Revit/BIM modeling.
Familiarity with Electrical codes and standards.

Construction and/or site experience is an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Committed to continual improvement and learning.

Pay: $63,240.00-$83,640.00 per year
