Job Summary



We're seeking a highly skilled

Electrical Assembly Supervisor

to play critical role in the manufacturing of our custom power distribution equipment. In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide a team of electrical assemblers, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency while providing technical expertise in electrical equipment assembly, wiring, troubleshooting, and testing. This role must also ensure compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery, while maintaining high workmanship and meeting customer requirements.

Job Duties



Supervise and coordinate day-to-day activities of electrical assemblers to meet production schedules, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

Ensure high standards of workmanship, efficiency, and productivity are consistently maintained.

Provide training and mentorship to electrical assemblers to enhance skill development and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust components, systems, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production.

Collaborate with other supervisors, engineers, production control, and shop personnel to resolve issues and recommend process improvements.

Monitor outputs to confirm they meet production schedules, safety and quality standards, and customer requirements.

Liaise and communicate with customers during the assembly process, both onsite and offsite, providing updates and addressing technical concerns.

Ensure adherence to manufacturing and processing procedures, including machine setup, equipment operation, and inspection processes.

Interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams to coordinate and guide assembly activities.

Inspect electrical equipment and connections to verify accuracy, safety, and compliance with specifications.

Recommend and implement improvements to electrical assemblies and processes to meet evolving production demands and improve efficiency.

Supervise and oversee the assembly of switchgears, ensuring compliance with CSA/IEC standards, directing technicians on proper clearances, torqueing, conductor terminations, and validating assemblies against engineering drawings and test requirements.

Ensure electrical assemblies meet stringent safety, reliability, and inspection standards for systems above 3200A up to 6000A.

Job Requirements



Minimum of two years of experience as an electrical assembler or related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Completion of a post-secondary training program or degree in electrical technology, industrial electrical maintenance, or a related discipline, is required.

Working knowledge of assembly processes for switchgear, switchboards, distribution panels, and related equipment.

Experience in supervision of High-Current Switchgear assembly (5000A-6000A) with proven ability to oversee the assembly of large-capacity switchgear, including busbar fabrication, insulation systems, and thermal management.

Advanced skills in reading and applying one-line diagrams, short-circuit studies, and protection coordination schemes to guide assembly teams.

Skilled in the safe operation of electrical equipment and diagnostic instruments, including breaker testers, insulation resistance testers, and power analyzers.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) without assistance and to stand, walk, and work for up to 8 hours per shift.

Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands.

English is the required language of work.
