Brar Engineering Ltd, an established Winnipeg Manitoba based, professional consulting firm specializing in electrical, instrumentation, and control system engineering, is looking for an Electrical and Controls Engineer / Technologist, ready to get to work and inspired to build strong relationships with our growing client base.

The ideal hire will have a confident background in control systems design, and outstanding technical skills as an Electrical Technologist and/or Engineer.

Working closely with the President of Brar Engineering, we need someone with proven experience developing designs of intricate control system drawings, installation scope of work packages and written specifications.

Our Expectations:

Prepare Electrical and Control system designs in line with project requirements for industrial / manufacturing plants using AutoCAD Electrical Maintain and adhere to consistent design drafting standards across projects and review designs produced by others. Manage, organize, participate and support multiple work assignments and contract documentation. Support field work, investigations, start-up and commissioning activities for clients. Build relationships and maintain communication with clients, suppliers and contractors.
Your Qualifications:

A certificate in electrical technology from a technical college OR an engineering degree, is required. A minimum of 4 years design experience in a professional consulting, engineering or system integration environment, is required. Proficiency in a variety of CAD platforms including AutoCAD Electrical, is required. Strong understanding of control systems designs based on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) architectures, is preferred. Understanding of power distribution voltages ranging from 25,000V to 120V, is preferred. Experience in design of MCC, VFD and industrial networking systems, is preferred. Excellent and demonstrated written and verbal communications skills. Described as a strategic, analytical, and practical thinker. Ability to analyze issues and determine priorities in an environment of tight and conflicting deadlines. Valid Driver's License required and ability/willingness to travel.
