Elective and General Surgery Clinical Lecturer, Small Animal Clinical SciencesApplications are invited from qualified individuals for a 2-year term clinical lecturer position in elective and general surgery in the department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences beginning September 1, 2024 or by negotiation. The successful applicant must have a strong interest and technical skill in surgery, a passion for veterinary medicine and a keen interest in coaching veterinary students for success in veterinary practice. For 75% of the time, this individual will deliver clinical veterinary care within the Elective and surgery service. This position will have a 75% clinical commitment and 25% formal undergraduate teaching commitment. They will contribute to building of a healthy and diverse caseload for clinical learning. This veterinarian will ensure the development of a positive and vibrant team-based clinical service with excellence in client service. They will coach veterinary students as they develop competence and confidence in the key elements of the framework for competency based veterinary education. They will work to incorporate recent veterinary medical evidence-based advances and enhance the surgical skills of undergraduates and technical staff. They must be a strong team player and be able to communicate and collaborate professionally with people of diverse backgrounds. There is a requirement for after hour emergency duty as a component of this position.The WCVM is western Canada\'s regional college of veterinary medicine.
