70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight)

This is moderately complex clerical work in planning and implementing all operations related to voter enumeration and voters' list preparation and ensuring all required election conduct and procedures are observed and enforced, as well as making all necessary physical arrangements for actual voting locations. The incumbent's work is self-initiated and entails supervision of a large number of temporarily employed enumeration and electoral staff. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised within the limits of legislation and departmental procedures. The incumbent reports directly to the Chief Election Officer who reviews work performance in terms of conformance to established standards for enumeration, voters' list, electoral programs and activities. Performs related work as required.


Qualifications include the completion of high school, including or supplemented by commercial courses, and sound related experience in municipal electoral procedures or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of applicable sections of the local government and related bylaws related to the work. Experience with word processing, scanning and familiarity with web based applications. Proficiency in the completion of computer based spreadsheets (Excel). Ability to select and train and supervise staff. Ability to use computer software applications such as Publisher, Power Point, SAP, and Municipal Voter View are considered assets. Ability to lift 25 lbs boxes. A valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.


This is a Temporary Full Time position until November 27, 2026.
