Description

Reporting to the Children, Youth and Families Education Coordinator, the Educator is responsible for the delivery of the educational programs within the After School Program (A.S.P.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Support student's completion of homework
+ Assess individual student's academic needs
+ Support individual education plans for concerned participants
+ Support children's acquisition of Executive functions and socio emotional learning skills
+ Promote a positive learning environment
+ Promote positive individual and group behaviour
+ Ensure positive interpersonal working relationships with parents, team members, volunteers and children
+ Support and integrate volunteers/interns during the programs Efficiently complete all administrative tools and tasks assigned by Education Coordinator
+ Actively participate and come prepared for supervisory meetings and staff meetings
+ Ensure the equipment, material and supplies are properly used and stored

Qualifications:

+ CEGEP degree in a related field or relevant experience
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in child animation and program planning
+ Effective written and oral communication skills
+ Knowledge of issues facing children in marginalized communities
+ Strong understanding of and ability to support child development
+ Strong organization skills, ability to delegate, multi-task and manage time Facility with the computer
+ Ability to communicate in French and English Must be a team-player; learning, working and communicating with other staff members is essential

Job Conditions:

+ $19,00 per hour.
+ Hours: Monday -Thursday 1:30-6:00 (total of 18 hours per week). Some flexibility required.
