Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant to support teachers and enhance the learning experience for students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves assisting in the classroom, implementing behavioral guidance strategies, and fostering an inclusive environment that promotes growth and learning for all students.

Duties



Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to individual child's needs. Support children with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special education requirements. Foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and behavior management techniques. Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum based on care plan goals. Maintain open communication parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education, classroom management, and curriculum development.

Experience



Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is essential. Familiarity with special education practices, including care plan development and implementation. Experience working with individuals who have disabilities or developmental challenges is highly desirable. Background in early childhood education or childhood development is preferred. Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience in behavior management strategies .

Those with their Early Childhood Education Certification are eligible for WE $6 additional per hour.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
