Educational Assistant

Fort Erie, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

Fort Erie Community Preschool is a non-profit child program that delivers an exciting, fun-based learning space where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and learn through play. We're not a daycare; our program is designed to introduce young children to the concept of going to school so when they do start kindergarten, they have a solid foundation in place to help them make the transition.

We believe children learn about the world by interacting with it. Our classrooms are inclusive to all children, including those with special needs and developmental needs. We provide opportunities for little ones to explore and discover new things every day through imaginative, associative, and co-operative play. Our program is 100% play-based and child-led. We let their imaginations and interests guide us.

Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll be required to keep daily logs and tracking data of the work you do with a child who exhibits and/or demonstrates responsive behaviours. This child may need assistance with daily transitions, communication support, social support, life skills, conflict resolution, sensory needs, emotional support, and developmental skills. Non-verbal communication skills will be required.
