OVERVIEW
Connect Society's Early Childhood Services Program requires a full-time Educational Assistant to work with preschool and kindergarten children who have hearing loss and/or language delays.
The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of child language development, behavior management skills and experience working with children aged 2 - 6 years. In addition, it is preferred the candidate have experience working with children with Autism, experience and knowledge around g-tube feeding and previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities. Position will require lifting and toileting children. Commitment to teamwork is essential as well as a willingness to be coached. American Sign Language (ASL) would be beneficial but is not required. Greater consideration will be given to candidates with competency in American Sign Language.
QUALIFICATIONS
Early Childhood Diploma, Special Needs Educational Assistant Diploma; Therapy Assistant Diploma
Related course work/experience in child development, special needs, deafness;
Current CPR and First Aid; and
American Sign Language (qualified candidates without American Sign Language will be considered with the expectation that they will gain competency);
Clear Criminal Record and Intervention Checks.
HOURS
Monday to Thursday 9:00am - 2:00pm
COMPENSATION
$21.00 - $22.50 per hour, based on education and experience; and
