Position Summary
The successful candidate will support students who have significant academic and behavioural challenges, cognitive delays, communication disorders, autism or have experienced trauma in Kindergarten through Grade 9.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
assisting students in Kindergarten, Division I and Division II
supporting students who have significant academic and behavioural challenges, cognitive delays, communication disorders, autism or have experienced trauma
adapting and modifying materials to support student success
promoting independence in daily routines including self care
providing office or library support as needed
assisting student with g-tube feeding on an infrequent basis
assisting students with personal care including toileting
Education/Qualifications
a two year post secondary program in a related field
a minimum of two years of related experience preferably in an educational environment
experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

Rate of Pay
$22.64 - $28.70 per hour
