This position is instrumental in promoting and advancing arts education within the South Peace region. As an ambassador for arts education, you will help deliver engaging, inclusive, and innovative programs that positively impact the local community.

Experience in Arts or Education Programs:
Proven experience in delivering or supporting arts and/or education programs, ideally within a community setting.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse community groups, stakeholders, and program participants.
Interpersonal & Leadership Skills:
Excellent ability to collaborate with colleagues and external partners, demonstrating leadership when needed.
Organizational Skills:
Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Program Management:
Proficiency in developing, managing, and delivering arts education programs to diverse audiences.
Core Responsibilities:
Promotion and Outreach:
Community Engagement:
Under the supervision of the Education Coordinator, the Educational Assistant will promote programs, services, and gallery exhibitions (i.e., Young Creatives) to maximize community participation. This includes actively promoting educational opportunities across a range of platforms, such as social media, local newsletters, and through physical distribution of promotional materials like posters and brochures.
Event Outreach:
Support community outreach initiatives such as face painting, art in the park events, and partnerships with local businesses in the South Peace region to raise awareness and engage the community in arts education activities.
Operations:
Program Registration & Safety Protocols:
Support the Education Coordinator (Lead Supervisor) with sign-in/sign-out procedures, monitoring student attendance on the ramp by engaging students, and maintaining safety protocols throughout the program.
Student Supervision:
Be responsible for ensuring the safety of students, including staying until all students are picked up by a legal guardian at the end of each session.
Leading Lessons:
Lead lessons when required (i.e., when the Education Coordinator is sick or on leave/ vacation).
Participant Well-Being:
Health & Safety:
Cultivate a supportive, welcoming, and safe environment for all program participants. The assistant will be expected to foster positive behavior and provide appropriate guidance as needed.
Progress Monitoring:
Under the guidance of the Education Coordinator, conduct regular assessments of participants' progress, engagement, and needs. This includes maintaining open lines of communication with the Education Coordinator and with parents as needed.
Community Collaboration:
Building Partnerships:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with community partners, local businesses, external service providers, and other collaborators. Work alongside the Education Coordinator to identify and nurture strategic partnerships that enhance program delivery.
Outreach & Networking:
Actively engage in building new relationships that support the goals of the program, including promoting collaborative opportunities for arts education in the community.
Supervision and Coordination:
Support for Education Coordinator:
Assist the Education Coordinator with program planning, preparation, and the delegation of responsibilities to other staff members.
Logistics and Planning:
Material Management:
If advised, keep track of program materials, notifying the Education Coordinator when inventory or supplies are low and arranging for the purchase or collection of required items.
Preparation for Classes:
Assist in preparing the environment and supplies for each class or event, ensuring all required materials are available and organized.
Innovation and Reporting:
Creative Input:
Propose new and imaginative program ideas to the Education Coordinator, subject to approval, contributing to the ongoing evolution of the arts education program.
Quality Assurance:
Program Excellence:
Ensure high-quality standards are maintained in all educational offerings, particularly in arts and crafts projects.
Creative Balance:
Maintain a balance of creativity and diversity in the selection of programs to ensure engaging, inclusive, and accessible activities for all participants.
Organization and Cleaning:
Classroom Maintenance:
Perform regular cleaning of the classroom before and after each session, including wiping down surfaces, washing supplies such as bowls, paint plates and brushes to name a few, regularly sanitizing the room, and ensuring the space is organized and safe.
Facility Cleanliness:
Sweep and mop the Bintop and storage rooms to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Material Organization:
Keep supplies well-organized and ensure that items are stored properly to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
Additional Cleaning Tasks:
Clean sinks, counters, and high-touch surfaces, as well as support with picking up supplies from local businesses.
Additional Requirements:
Transportation:
Must have access to reliable transportation and hold a valid driver's license for traveling within the region as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires light lifting, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit and engage in games and supervision for extended periods.
Mobility Requirements:
Must be comfortable with ramps, stairs, and walking long distances within various program venues.
Commitment to Safety:
Must be proactive in ensuring all health and safety protocols are followed to maintain a secure environment for all participants.
