: Part-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated February 16, 2026 up to September 4, 2026)

SALARY

: $28.11 - $39.56 hourly


POSITION LOCATION

: This position will be for support of a program that is being run at Minegoziibe Anishinabe (Pine Creek First Nation) using the mobile training lab.

DUTIES



Educational Assistant (EA) will support the students and Instructor of the Pre-Employment Electrical program that will take place in Minegoziibe Anishinabe (Pine Creek First Nation) at Kina Maaga-Kamik (Learning Centre) and RRC Polytech's Mobile Training Lab.The EA will work with students while they are attending online classes and in-person classes. Throughout the delivery the EA may prepare instructional materials as directed by the Instructor, such as handouts, assignments, problem sets, test, exams, and lab set-up.The EA may assist with class delivery, which may include explaining and demonstrating concepts and procedures, clarifying subject areas, and provide guidance and assistance to students.The EA will aid in maintaining subject areas, and provide guidance and assistance to students.
The EA will aid in maintaining the virtual classroom and provide technical support to students. Duties include student support and scheduled office hours to provide support to students outside of the classroom. Student support may look like but is not limited to aiding students with understanding course work, providing basic technical support with learning technologies, guiding students for proper resources to aid in their assignment and understanding of the curriculum, guide students to access college resources such as counselling, Elders, accessibility services, etc. Candidates will have a passion for support adult learning and have a commitment to lifelong learning.
The EA will possess a strong work ethic, problem solving skills, teamwork, collaboration and people skills. The position will take place in Minegoziibe Anishinabe. The ideal candidate will have lived experience in remote northern communities and understands the barriers and challenges that adult learners face.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Post Secondary Education as an Educational Assistant or Community Service Worker or related field of study, an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered Demonstrated experience supporting Indigenous learners in classroom settings, with cultural awareness and lived experience in remote or northern communities Proven ability to foster inclusive learning environments through strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and adaptable professional communication skills Proficient in learning technologies and platforms such as D2L Brightspace, with working knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) to support daily instructional and administrative tasks Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in diverse group settings, with the ability to present material using appropriate technology and adapt to varied learning needs Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS


Self-identifies as an Indigenous person with lived experience Ability to speak an Indigenous language Experience in construction trades

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
