| Facebook | LinkedIn | Twitter | TikTok Detailed Overview: Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families: Reporting to the Leader, People Development, the Education Consultant provides consultation to design, develop and deliver educational programming targeted to developing leadership and management competency in Fraser Health leaders. The Consultant works with key stakeholders and the Leadership & Organizational Development team to assess, design, deliver, implement and evaluate education and development requirements, including online/e-learning educational materials that support the strategic priorities of Fraser Health. Responsibilities:
  • Designs, develops and delivers educational programming targeted to developing leadership and management competency in Fraser Health (FH) leaders, in conjunction with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to determine learning and development needs for FH leaders, establishes an assessment process and provides input to the planning and design of learning related to leadership, new-to-role and succession development.
  • Assists in identifying learning opportunities by collaboratively supporting key stakeholders in the provision of educational/learning programs that strengthen the capacity of Managers/Directors and their leadership teams.
  • Utilizes best practices in educational learning theory and instructional design methodology suited for online course development.
  • Assists with the ongoing continuous evaluation and improvement of educational programs, content, and services and the implementation of an evaluation process that includes evaluation tools for the various educational approaches.
  • Develops guidelines, structures and processes for online learning.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of initiatives/courses and submits recommendations regarding improvements to processes to maximize the return on investment for typical projects.
  • Researches the functionality of learning technologies used by the team, develops appropriate training plans and trains assigned co-workers and clients in the use of these tools.
  • Maintains project logs to monitor the progress of online learning/e-learning initiatives
  • Utilizes an external consultant network to maintain a pool of resources in order to meet the learning and development needs of Fraser Health; assists in the sourcing, selection, and evaluation of new online products and technologies used by the Leadership & Organizational Development team.
  • Partners with Leader, People Development regarding the prioritization of online course development.
  • Participates on internal and external committees; liaises with various levels of health industry counterparts, educational institutions and external consultants for the exchange of information, the provision of specialist advice/knowledge and the planning and implementation of joint initiatives.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Three (3) years' recent related experience in curriculum development and instructional design, preferably in the area of leadership and management development in a complex health care environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with best practices in adult education principles and education content design, to develop education programming.
  • Demonstrated experience with the use of virtual tools to support educational delivery; experience integrating virtual learning into educational design and strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of creative, interactive learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, manage projects, and meet requested deadlines in a customer-focused, dynamic environment with multiple shifting priorities.
